1995 - 2000: MasterBrit Theatre

Video Engineer/Videographer: Jerry Bard

In July 1995, MasterBrit Theatre was born as a Videozine (similar to the Federation Video'Zine).  MasterBrit Theatre originally was a video room sponsored by the BBC at the ConTinuity Science Fiction Convention in Birmingham.  This Videozine contained the month’s programming with an intermission between the Doctor Who program and the extra British comedy.

MasterBrit Theatre was hosted by Bill Savage. Bill was a perfect choice due to his distant residency.  While in Omaha, Bill would provide "Postcards from Bill" which were sent along with episodes of various comedies (such as One Foot in the Grave and Red Dwarf).  The combination of these materials along with a Doctor Who related content allowed us to compile the Videozine for the meeting.

When Bill was not able to provide content for the upcoming meeting, members from the club hosted the Videozine (such as Paula Woodall, Jean McDonald, Becky Byrd, Max Tube, celebrities from conventions and other members from the club).  Eventually, Bill had to officially step down and Max Tube replaced him as the official host.  Max Tube, our sock puppet mascot, was voiced and performed by Mike Byrd.

2000 - 2005

Due to the laborious effort in arranging the programming and limited time available to perform the task, Jerry was not able to continue MasterBrit Theatre.

Over the years, members brought their videos to the meeting for viewing.  The programming was very unstructured which was fine for everyone that attended.  Many members brought their favorite shows and we usually had a selection of programming for viewing.

2005 - 2011

Video Engineer: Jason Ring

To facilitate the flexibility of viewing choices, Jason brought his laptop and media equipment to provide on-demand access to British shows.  VideoLAN media player was used for video management during the meetings.  Content was stored on an external drive.  As a result, we were able to watch any story from any season or series of Doctor Who or other British shows.

2011 - 2015

Video Engineers: Hiram Lester, Jason Ring

Continuation of the videos is made possible using Hiram's WDTV media player and Jason's external drive.

2015 - 2017

Video Engineer: Jason Ring

Continuation of the videos is made possible using Hiram's WDTV media player and Jason's external drive.  Jason Ring stepped down in October of 2017.
